How / Why is this better than a cell phone?

Several reasons: 1. If one falls they might not be able to access their cell phone, let alone call a number for help. 2. If it’s a dire emergency, one might not be able to speak. 3. MobileHelp can locate you in an emergency based on GPS location technology. 4. MobileHelp knows exactly who is calling for help.

Do I need a cell phone/smartphone?

No. While the system uses cellular technology, having a cellphone or smartphone is not required. However, the MobileHelp base station and mobile device is required.

Do I need a landline?

No, you do not need a landline. The MobileHelp home base station as well as the mobile device work off their own cellular network, provided by AT&T.

Do I need to purchase a MobileHelp subscription?

Yes. TRELAWEAR pendants pair with a MobileHelp DUO or Classic monitoring system, to provide access to 24/7/365 emergency help through a home and/or mobile base station. The TRELAWEAR purchase comes with a discount equivalent to two free months of service from MobileHelp, which can be applied to the emergency monitoring plan that’s right for you. What subscription plans does MobileHelp offer?

They offer several different options, however, the one we suggest is: Complete Help; Duo Plan: This plan includes the home base station as well as the mobile device for $41.95/ month. In addition to your TRELAWEAR pendant, this plan will also come with 1qty water resistant necklace button, so one may wear in the shower.

Do I need to purchase anything else to correctly use the TRELAWEAR system?

Yes. To ensure your TRELAWEAR pendant can access emergency help, you will also need to contact MobileHelp at 1-800-914-8796 and place an order for a Classic monitoring plan (with a home Base Station only) or the DUO monitoring plan (with Home Base Station and Mobile Device). After you receive your equipment from MobileHelp, you will be able to pair the TRELAWEAR pendant so that it works with the MobileHelp devices.

Do I need to use the MobileHelp mobile device with the TRELAWEAR pendant?

Yes. You need to be within range (650 feet) of the home Base station or carry the Mobile Device with you while wearing your pendant. These open the lines of communication to the Emergency Response Center.

Who is MobileHelp?

MobileHelp is the leading provider of M-PERS (Mobile-Personal Emergency Response System) technology. Their services and products provide U.S.-based 24/7/365 emergency monitoring. MobileHelp answers a call for help every 4.3 minutes.

Does the service work in areas with no cellular coverage?

No. The MobileHelp service will not work without cell coverage, as the service is based on cellular technology.

Is the TRELAWEAR pendant waterproof?

The pendant is not waterproof, and should not be worn in the shower.

Can I go to sleep wearing the pendant?

No, TRELAWEAR pendants are not recommended to be worn at bedtime. We suggest you store your pendant in our beautiful gift box on your nightstand.

Do I need to charge the pendant?

No. The pendant runs on batteries, which lasts up to three years. If you purchase the DUO plan, you will need to charge the MobileHelp mobile device(Home Base Stations plug into a standard electrical outlet and do not need to be charged). The battery on the mobile device will last over 24 hours under normal use conditions.

What network does MobileHelp utilize?

MobileHelp utilizes AT&T coverage.

Does this work outside of the U.S.?

As of right now, the service only works in the United States.

Do I need to have an AT&T cellular contract to make this work?

No, your MobileHelp subscription comes with AT&T network connectivity.

If I buy a pendant, do I need to use MobileHelp service? Or Can I just wear it as a piece of Jewelry?

Yes, you may purchase the pendant and wear as a piece of jewelry. However, please keep in mind that the only way for the button/safety of the pendant to work is by selecting a MobileHelp Service plan.
